As the participating bands of the 15th Malaysian Secondary School Marching Band Competition slept, the Nan Hwa Marching Band was busy preparing for their journey to the competition the following day to give their cheer and support to the other bands.
It was midnight, on the 8th of August, where 42 members gather in the bandroom before journeying to Malacca for a day trip followed by the journey to Johore for the competition finals.
At 1am, the band departed Sitiawan as the members wind-down for a good-night’s sleep on the bus. Some members took out their mp3s to listen while others took out a pillow to rest on.
After several midnight restroom-stops, the band arrived in Malacca at 7am. After taking breakfast, the band headed to a number of tourist spots such as Christ Churh, St. Paul’s Church and Jonker Street. At 10:30am, the band headed to their final destination in Malacca: Shopping at Dataran Pahlawan.
At 2pm, the band left Malacca and head towards Johore while the participating bands were already halfway with their rehersals in Pasir Gudang Indoor Stadium.
The band arrive at their hotel at 5:00pm. Members unpacked into to their rooms and took a quick rest before gathering back at 6:30pm to go for one more shopping trip in JUSCO.
9th August, 7:00am. The band had breakfast at a local hawker store before journeying to Pasir Gudang Indoor Stadium. Once we arrived, we could see the other bands warming-up before they compete. The competition started at arround 9:00am.

6. St. Joseph - Sarawak

9. Sekolah Tun Fatimah - Johor
10. Kwang Hua - Selangor
11. Sam Tet – Perak
The competition ended at around noon, with the following results:

1st: SMK Sultanah Asma, Kedah
2nd: SMK Sam Tet, Perak
3rd: SMK Chung Hwa Wei Sin, Terengganu
4th: SMK Tun Fatimah, Johor

5th: MGSS, Pahang
6th: SMK St.John, KL
7th: SMK St.Joseph, Sarawak
8th: SMK Chung Hwa, Kelantan
